MTV News has learned that “Teen Mom” season 2 will not be a “grim” one.
Sources say that “Grim” is not a word that is in the air for fans of the hit MTV reality show, and that fans should be grateful that MTV has made sure that the series is the series that it is.
“The thing is, I’ve never seen it before,” MTV president and CEO Paul Lee told “The Breakfast Club” host David Letterman on Wednesday.
“It’s a very, very dark and gritty show.
I can’t tell you how much we have loved it, and I don’t know what to expect from it.
So, we’re not looking for that sort of grimness.”
Lee also spoke about the decision to cancel the series altogether.
“We did not want to take the show too seriously,” he said.
“We wanted to take it seriously.
We’re not going to try to make it grim.
It’s a dark, gritty show, it’s got lots of blood and guts.
We know what we want, so we’re going to go with what we think is the right approach.”
